Virtual reality (VR) continues to evolve and innovate, with increasingly technical and technological advances transforming this sector. At the end of 2022, Pico launched its new range of VR headset for businesses: Pico 4 Enterprise. Features, price, technical specifications... Here we will tell you everything you need to know about this new device.

Pico 4 Enterprise, the new VR headset for businesses

According to the company responsible for its launch, Pico 4 Enterprise has arrived to offer "High resolution and immersive experience". Launched a month after its sister (Pico 4), the Enterprise range is intended for commercial and business use.

"Pico 4 Enterprise provides a precise, flexible and immersive business experience with great interaction power." PicoXR

Pico 4 Enterprise has many similarities with the Pico 4, but some differences make it a more advanced range. Perhaps the most striking is in terms of performance, even though both VR headsets use the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor. The divergence is that Pico 4 Enterprise has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which is faster than the LPDDR4 of Pico 4.

We find other differences in Pico 4 Enterprise, such as the automatic adjustment of the interocular distance in a range of 62-72 72mm. There are some other new features, such as an anti-scratch reflective screen, although both glasses have the same operating system, PICO OS 5.0.

Some features of the Pico 4 Enterprise

In addition to the aforementioned, there are other interesting features of the Pico 4 Enterprise that we will analyze.

Dimensions and weight

The dimensions of the viewer are 163mm wide and 80mm high. The total width with the strap reaches 195mm, and the height including the support for the face is 106mm. As for the length, the strap allows the glasses to be adjusted in a range of between 255mm and 310mm.

The weight of the Pico 4 Enterprise, not including the strap, is 300g. The total weight including all accessories is 591g.

Pancake lenses

This type of lenses, known in the world of photography, provide lightness and reduce the volume of VR glasses. The space between the lenses and the screen is reduced, while the image quality is increased. This is why the Pico 4 Enterprise weighs no more than 300g.

Another advantage of pancake lenses is that they help correct the 'glare' effect. This drawback was characterized by a certain glare due to excessive brightness, which could cause discomfort.

8 cameras and sensors for 'Motion tracking'

The Pico 4 Enterprise has cameras and sensors that follow the movement of the head, face, and eyes. This tracking and reaction to our movements is known as 'Motion Tracking', and it is improved with these virtual reality glasses.

According to Pico XR, the face tracking of the Pico 4 Enterprise allows for "truly realistic VR avatars." The gaze tracking "deciphers the movement of the eyes and translates it into information that can be used in a wide range of applications."

Haptic motion controllers

Haptic perception is active perception through touch. Haptic perception controllers use movements, vibrations or other mechanisms to achieve realistic tactile experiences. In the case of the Pico 4 Enterprise controllers, they recreate and transmit sensations related to touch during the virtual reality experience.

"Haptic motion controllers provide a much more realistic experience to simulations where greater freedom of movement and object manipulation is required." Pico XR

Retrocompatibility of Pico 4 Enterprise

Pico 4 Enterprise VR glasses are fully compatible with any game or application that worked with Pico 3 or Pico 3 Pro.

VR headset designed for businesses

Pico 4 Enterprise has specific features for companies. They come with an interactive interface and applications designed for commercial scenarios.

In addition, with these VR glasses, you can access the PICO Business Suite. This enterprise-level software allows you to manage and organize work with Pico 4 Enterprise. It includes features such as syncing multiple VR devices to a single computer or router, useful for scenarios such as presentations or lectures.

It also offers other possibilities such as streaming virtual reality content, useful for training, or a kiosk where you can access videos. It is an operations system that offers customized solutions.

Pico 4 Enterprise: price and where to buy it

Pico 4 Enterprise is available for enterprise use at a price of €899. You can find them on the Pico XR website.

Ludus, compatible with Pico 4 Enterprise

Pico 4 Enterprise has made a strong entry into the virtual reality market. More and more companies are making their products or technology compatible with these new VR glasses, such as Ludus.

Ludus is the first European platform for realistic safety and health training with virtual reality. Ludus VR simulations have brought this technology to the world of occupational hazard prevention, seeking an impact on reducing accidents.

After conducting more than 1,500 exercises internally, it has been confirmed that Ludus' training platform is compatible with Pico 4 Enterprise. Thus, Ludus customers can access our catalog of simulations using the Pico device.

Ludus, compatible con las Pico 4 Enterprise

Ludus VR simulations allow safety trainers to enhance and energize their training. The trainer immerses the employee in their daily environment, and they face the risks of their job firsthand. The worker can make mistakes and visualize their consequences in the form of an accident, which promotes awareness.

Ludus' catalog of simulations is constantly growing. Fire extinguishing, work at heights, CPR, electrical risk, confined spaces... By paying a license fee, customers have unlimited access to more than 18 simulations with hundreds of exercises.
