Continuing its commitment to optimizing and updating its product catalog, Ludus has introduced a new Virtual Reality simulation on its training platform: Waste management.
Waste Management focuses on promoting sustainability and environmental protection within companies, offering competitive dynamics based on scoring and rankings.
Why do we launch the Waste management simulation?
Environmental care is a key focus of the Ludus platform. With Waste management, we present content fully dedicated to the Environment.
The importance of waste management and recycling
Global data highlights the critical need for proper waste management in companies:
- The European Union generates over 2.1 billion tons of waste annually (European Parliament).
- In 2020, 3.7 million tons of plastic waste entered the ocean from Latin American countries (United Nations).
- Spanish companies produce approximately 137.8 million tons of waste each year (National Statistics Institute).
In addition to its significance, proper waste management brings significant benefits to the businesses that adopt it.
What does the Waste management VR simulation involve?
In the Waste management simulation, the trainee stands in front of a conveyor belt moving various waste items. The task is to pick up objects and place them in the correct container.
There are 5 types of waste and 5 containers: glass, packaging, paper and cardboard, organic, and general waste.
The exercise ends when the trainee makes three mistakes, which are displayed on a results panel alongside their score. A leaderboard is also generated, enabling competitive dynamics.
As time progresses, the conveyor belt's speed gradually increases, making it harder to avoid errors and ultimately ending the exercise.
Benefits of the Waste Management simulation
- A dynamic exercise that tests quick identification and separation of waste.
- Reinforces waste classification skills through repetition.
- Engaging dynamics for the trainee.
- Competitive opportunities with scores and rankings.
- Greater employee involvement in waste management training.
- Visibility of errors to learn from and correct them.
- Highly interactive and minimally language-dependent, ensuring ease of use.
One of the greatest advantages of this simulation is how it makes traditionally boring content engaging for the worker. Instead of merely receiving a theoretical explanation about waste management and classification, employees can actively practice in an entertaining and dynamic way.
